10 Live Shows to Be At in Buffalo This November

October was a pretty great month in Buffalo for shows. Endless options for Halloween parties. Local release shows. Name touring acts coming through town. Luckily, it looks like November isn’t going to have any kind of let down as the end of the year quickly approaches. Here are the 10 shows that should be on your radar for the month of November.

 

 

1. Shilpa Ray

DATE: November 1st

LOCATION: Nietzsche’s

The blues-punk firecracker, a long-time Buffalo favorite, will kick off the month of music at the Allentown music hub.

 

2. Soul Patch

DATE: November 4th

LOCATION: The Tralf Music Hall

COST: $7

Fronted by Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley, the 90’s alt-rock tribute act will bring a full dose of nostalgia to the Tralf’s stage. Local psych-rockers Deadwolf will open.

 

3. Waxahatchee

DATE: November 7th

LOCATION: The Tralf Music Hall

Hot off of the heels of another great release, July’s great break up album “Out in the Storm,” songwriter Katie Crutchfield will bring her confessional Waxahatchee project to the Tralf.

 

 

4. Slowdive

DATE: November 9th

LOCATION: Town Ballroom

The influential showgaze act will be delivering a must-see performance in support of the band’s long-awaited and critically acclaimed new self-titled record.

 

5. The Wood Brothers

DATE: November 10th

LOCATION: Town Ballroom

Featuring Medeski Martin & Wood’s Chris Wood, the brotherly Americana act, which blends elements of jazz, country, swing and gospel, will grace the Ballroom stage.

 

6. Bethlehem Steel

Brooklyn’s Fredonia and Buffalo-rooted indie act will be in town for latest homecoming gig to celebrate the release of the new LP “Party Naked Forever.”

 

 

 

7. Turnover

The emo-pop turned breezy indie rockers will settle in for a gig at the busy Theatre District venue. Lo-fi bandcamp act Elvis Depressedly will open.

 

8. Timber Timbre

DATE: November 14th

LOCATION: Mohawk Place

The Toronto goth-folk act will make a seasonably appropriate visit to Buffalo in support of its latest album, the 80’s influenced “Sincerely, Future Pollution.”

 

9. Hollerado

DATE: November 16th

LOCATION: The Leopard Lounge

The rousing Ontario rock outfit will make its latest Buffalo appearance at the Town Ballroom’s intimate Leopard Lounge stage. Rising local garage act Ugly Sun will be on hand for support.

 

10. New Order vs Depeche Mode Dance Party

DATE: November 18th

The sister party to Transmission’s long-running Smiths vs Cure Dance Party, the latest battle between the two British synth act heavyweights will go down at the series’ home base venue.
