2013 has been full of restaurants and food, reviews, articles and guides. We’ve tested out restaurants new and old and curated some ideas of where to dine and what’s good all over western New York. Care to know the list that made the most eyes bug, jaws drop, and ears perk? Here are our top 10 most popular posts of 2013…
10. Medici House in East Aurora – Restaurant Reinvented
Tantalus no longer, this reinvented Italian restaurant on Main Street made a change (a few?). Was it for the better?
9. Taste the Big Apple at Reuben’s N.Y. Deli
Rich Balogh can’t take all of us to New York City, so he hopes to bring a little of the big apple to Buffalo, by way of the New York deli. “I think every community deserves a New York style deli experience. I wanted to share that with the people in western New York.” says Rich.
8. Savor the Old World at Salumeria Belsito
Sipping from a bottle of Castello Di Neive while you feast on a gorgeous salumi plate filled with prosciutto and Italian cheeses, one might easily be daydreaming of a holiday in Tuscany. Snap out of the daze and get yourself over to Salumeria Belsito where you can live the dream.

4. Providence Social: Creative Menu Built for Sharing
A new restaurant with an old idea – people sharing food. As one member in a family that needs to try everything on the table, I love this concept.
They say you can’t be all things to all people. I’d say Buffalo’s newest upscale restaurant, bar, nightclub, private-party destination- The Lodge Bar & Grill- is challenging that concept.
2. Daniels Restaurant Back in Business
Daniel’s Restaurant in Hamburg is back with a new cast, same crew. Daniel’s Restaurant in Hamburg closed earlier this fall when long time owner and chef Daniel Johengen retired after 23 years. The new ownership is a group of four local business people.
1. Unmatched Beer Sipping Venue at Hamburg Brewing
Picture yourself sipping a cold beverage in an elegant chalet with 30 foot vaulted ceilings, a magnificent stone fireplace, hardwood floors and matching circular bar, and vineyards just outside the back door. Napa, Bordeaux, Tuscany? Close- Hamburg NY.
