13 U-Pick Farms to Check Out This Season in WNY

Updated October 2019

It’s no secret that summers in Western New York are short, which means every very drop of sweet sunshine must be maximized. One way to do that is to plan trips to u-pick farms, where you can enjoy the experience of picking your own veggies, fruit and even flowers.

Our area, abundant with rolling hills and rich soil, is home to a plethora of these u-pick farms. They are excellent places to go with a group of friends or with the whole fam. Many encourage kids to come. (Take note, though, that most won’t allow dogs). Although some are an hour long drive from the city, many are only a half hour. These farms offer visitors everything from blueberries and lavender to flowers and strawberries, all ripe for the picking, depending on the month. Be sure to check with each farm for deets before heading out.

Below is a list of 13 of some of the best u-pick farms our area has to offer. Getting out there and visiting at least one this season will definitely help you live your best WNY summer life. While you’re at it, enjoy channelling your inner farmer.

Happy picking!
