Tuesday Night Flicks @ Canalside

Summer nights are the perfect opportunity to grab a blanket and your favorite snack and drinks to catch an outdoor flick. Here in Buffalo there are plenty of places showing outdoor movies (many for free) now through September.



Movie Nights at Outer Harbor

On certain Wednesdays throughout this summer, movie lovers are invited to set up camp to view family friendly movies at Buffalo Harbor State Park, 1111 Fuhrmann Boulevard. The movie nights are free to attend with your fav movie snacks on sale.

Take advantage of the ideal waterfront setting while enjoying some fun-loving family films.

All the films are free and start at 7:30 but bring your kiddies early for activities at 6-7

Movies in the Meadow @ Delaware Park

The Parkside Community Association is hosting their annual “Movies in the Meadow” program again this year. Movies are shown on Friday nights beginning in  August until the first Friday in September. They take place in the beautiful Delaware Park behind the Parkside Lodge. Stock your own cooler or purchase refreshments including popcorn, candy, and water at the showing. All movies are rated PG (unless noted).  

Movies are free and start just after dusk.

Flicks on Old Falls

Old Falls Street’s Middle Block

Every Thursday night through August 30th, catch free movies on Old Falls Street. Food and beverages are available for purchase, but bring your own chairs and blankets. While you’re waiting for the movie to start, check out the Pre-show Party presented by D+B Karaoke and DJ.  

Movies are free and begin around 8:30 pm.

Transit Road Drive-In

If you’ve never been to the drive-in, there’s still plenty of time to cross it off your bucket list. Rain or shine, movies are projected on 5 screens every day of the week. Make an entire night of it by staying for a double feature like The Incredibles 2 and The Avengers, Hereditary and Deadpool 2, or Ocean’s 8 and Tag. Retro Movie Nights are held every Tuesday showing classics like The Sandlot and The Goonies, Jurassic World, Uncle Drew, Sicario 2, The First Purge, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Skyscraper . Admission is $9 for ages 12 and up, $4 for kids 5 – 11 and free for age 4 and under. Showings start as early as 8:30 p.m.



UB Summer Film Series

University at Buffalo

Some of 2018’s biggest movies can be seen at UB this summer. The free series presented by the Undergraduate Student Association runs through the end of August Monday and Friday nights on the Special Events Field adjacent to the Student Union on the North Campus, and on Wednesday night on the Hayes Hall lawn on the South Campus. The screenings are open to the UB community as well as the general public. If it rains, screenings will move inside to the Student Union Theater on North Campus or Allen Hall on South Campus.

Movies are free and screenings take place at 9:15 p.m. (June), 9 p.m. (July), and 8:45 p.m. (August) 

June 18, 20 and 22: “Super Troopers 2.”

June 25, 27 and 29: “The Post.”

July 2 and 6: “Love Simon.”

July 9, 11 and 13: “Black Panther.”

July 16, 18 and 20: “A Quiet Place.”

July 23, 25 and 27: “Deadpool 2.”

July 30 and Aug. 1 and 3: “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

Aug. 6, 8 and 10: “Isle of Dogs.”

Aug. 13, 15 and 17: “Ready Player One.”

Aug. 20, 22 and 24: “Avengers: Infinity Wars.”


Movies in the Park – Hamlin Park

Hamlin Park, East Aurora

Every Friday night in July and August, catch a film the whole family will love at Hamlin Park. Be sure to bring your own chairs and blankets and arrive early to claim your spot on the hill. Refreshments
are available for purchase.

If you love Canalside as much as we do, Tuesday Night Flix is a must-experience. With the beautiful view and the cool breeze, Canalside is a picture-perfect spot to catch a movie. There are also fun activities to entertain your kiddies before the movies beginning around 7pm. Adirondack chairs in high demand, so it’s best to bring your own chairs and blankets and don’t forget to pack your favorite snacks and beverages.

Twin Delevan Drive-In

An evening at the drive-in is the ideal way to spend a summer or fall night. The Twin Delevan Drive-In is open 7 days a week for your movie-watching pleasure through sometime in October. With two screens and double features, you have choices to watch these films starting at dusk.  The ticket office opens at 7 pm daily and full concessions are available for purchase. Check Out Their Facebook Page for upcoming showings.

Movies are $8 for adults, $7 for Senior Citizens, $5 for ages 4 – 12 and free for 3 and under.

Bring blankets, chairs, and your favorite snacks to Island Park for free family movie night. It’s free so why not check it out?

Located in the field between Cazenovia Park Casino and the flagpole, these free movie nights is a fun way to get your fam together and have an outdoor movie night.

Films begin at dusk and are weather dependent.
