Buffalo’s waterfront is continuing to grow and thrive, and we absolutely love it. Many of the developments are more recent. However, a certain classic 73-foot topsail schooner has been setting sail for a decade now.

Climbing aboard The Spirit of Buffalo – that gorg sailboat you probably recognize from all the pics, you’ll be transported back in time. If you have never experienced traditional sailing, this is most definitely the way to start.  Did you know that this summer marks Spirit of Buffalo’s 10th Anniversary? They’ve been at Canalside ever since it opened 10 years ago. Recently Mayor Byron Brown proclaimed the Spirit of Buffalo the Flagship of the City of Buffalo and July 2 has been proclaimed Spirit of Buffalo Day. Congrats guys!

How does it work? This beautiful schooner sets sail day and night. From children’s pirate adventures and educational excursions to 21+ only boozy cruises, there are options for sailors of all ages.
