Food Truck Tuesday is one of those things that is almost guaranteed to leave you feeling happy, satisfied and proud to be a Western New Yorker. Over the past couple years thousands have experienced the people watching, line waiting, face stuffing, cold beer on a hot summer day, free parking, Buffalo friendly atmosphere that is Larkin Square on a Food Truck Tuesday. Truthfully, it’s hard not to love every minute of the chaos. Because you’re in Buffalo and this is happening. This year whether you’re a regular, newbie or fair weather food truck fan, we urge you to check out everything they’ve got going on down in the Hydraulics on Tuesdays starting May 5, 2015.  Here are four reasons, just in case I haven’t cleverly convinced you yet.

Larkin 2

It’s beautiful.

If you live in Western New York and you have yet to see it as it stands, newly renovated and begging for get-togethers like Food Truck Tuesday, you need to go. I heard about it, and heard about it, and kept putting off a visit. When I finally did make my way to the Larkin District, I was overcome with pride for the city I love. You will be too.

Buffalo Development Before Your Eyes

My pride and love statement brings me to the second reason you should join the fun at Food Truck Tuesday. Your mind will be opened to what Buffalo can become/is becoming. With all the Buffalonians with hope and determination to rebuild the city that we all love deep down it should only be a matter of years before the whole place looks like this. Food Trucks are helping to bring our city up to the standard of innovation so many of us in Buffalo crave. Growth is upon us and Larkin Square was here at the beginning of that journey.

The Food Trucks

Which, of course brings me to my third reason. Buffalo Food Trucks. They are awesome. They are creating a new standard for food around here. They are creative, innovative risk-takers that allow you to try new things, many things and cool things. The best part of this happy hour is the variety of cuisines you can try in one “meal”. If you don’t stop at at least 3 trucks, you’re doing it wrong!

Food, what else?

Finally, the food. While it’s not the only draw to Larkin Square’s Food Truck Tuesday Happy Hour Extravaganza, it is the best part. From tacos (get in line now) to pierogi, gourmet hot dogs, gyros, delectable desserts, mac and cheese and more; there is something for everyone. My advice to you is grab a drink, (did I mention easy access to quality beer?) pick a line, and enjoy being in a place that foreshadows Buffalo’s bright future with people that are just as excited about it as you.
