4 Things You Didn’t Know About Coyote Cafe

Allied Post

FYI – Coyote Cafe has more to offer than cold margs and good times at late hours. #themoreyouknow Didn’t know these guys have mad taco connections? Unaware of their mobile taco bar? Read on, friends. And get woke to 4 things you did. not. know. about Hamburg’s Coyote Cafe.

1. They Just Announced a *Mobile Taco Bar*

Betcha didn’t know this mainstay Hamburg restaurant just announced their very own taco truck called “Juan Chavez”. Look forward to carnitas, quesadillas, and street tacos, plus other Coyote Cafe favs. Here’s hoping the Mexican Pizza makes an appearance! While Señor Chavez will be out and about at public events, they are also available to show up at your wedding or fundraiser. More info at juanchavezcatering.pagesyeah.com.

2. They’ll bring their Taco Bar to you.

Getting married? Turning 30? Having somebody’s baby? Just don’t feel like getting off the couch, putting on real clothes, and driving somewhere? That’s what Coyote Cafe’s catering is for, let them bring a freakin’ Taco Bar to you!

Plus, if you’re feelin’ fancy. (AKA you’re looking for a reason to change outta your sweats), you can always book their banquet room for your event, complete with a full service Taco Bar. Mexican fiestas > regular fiestas. The Taco Bar is $25 per person for two hours (taxes and tip included!) of all the make your own tacos, cervezas, and mixed drinks you can handle. How much taco bar can you handle? Don’t forget to try their housemade scratch sauces while you’re there including the chili con queso, salsa rojos, and horseradish cream.

3. They take their patio game very seriously.

Sure, you may know about their outdoor dining space in front of the restaurant, but did you know that over the past few years they’ve been concocting an outdoor space out back complete with tables, hanging lights, an overhang to shield you from this crazy WNY weather, fire pits, and plenty of space for live music. You may be familiar with the patio if you’ve ever attended from the annual Hamburg Music Festival, but you should know this full service patio is open all summer long, and we aint mad about it.

4. They are ~ basically ~ Mexican restaurant royalty around these parts.

Why you ask? Well first off, they’ve been open for a long time – 24 years to be exact. Don’t get us wrong, we love all the new places that are opening too – the more tacos, the better that’s what we always say! – but these guys have stuck it out through some tough taco times and deserve props for it. They even had a “Burrito Mobile” back in the day!

For owner Jeff Giovino, the art of tacos is much more than profession; it’s tradition. Did you know that Giovino’s Gramma is Gramma Mora? Yes, THAT Gramma Mora. So these guys hail from a long line of taco makers, with his family being one of Buffalo’s first!
