5 Buffalo Beer Briefs to Know This Week: Apr. 5

1. Resurgence, OnCore Golf, PGA Hope WNY Collab Returns

Resurgence Brewing has once again teamed up with OnCore Golf and PGA Hope WNY on Smash Factor, a sessionable 5.5% IPA. The beer returns to Resurgence on April 8 (11am) and the release party will feature an indoor putting green (sink your putts to win a pint and Smash Factor ball), mini golf putting green games, prize giveaways, and Oncore Golf popup. $1 from all Smash Factor pints will go towards PGA Hope all weekend and partial proceeds will go to WNY PGA HOPE, a golf charity for veterans. Smash Factor will be available on draft and 4-pack cans all summer.

2. Tickets Remain for KBC – Kegs, Barrels & Crafts at 500 Pearl

Limited tickets still remain for the second annual KBC – Kegs, Barrels, and Crafts, a beer, wine and whiskey event that features more than 40 vendors from Western New York, which takes place April 8 (4-8pm) at 500 Pearl. In attendance this year will be 42 North, BriarBrothers Brewing, Community Beer Works, Clarksburg Cider, Ellicottville Brewing, Lockhouse Distillery, Southern Tier Brewing and more. There will be live music and all attendees are eligible to win an overnight stay at Aloft Buffalo Downtown with a $50 gift card to w xyz Bar + Lounge/Patrick’s Rooftop and a $50 gift card to Spare Lanes. 3. Southern Tier Brewing Releases Mango Rays Wheat

Southern Tier Brewing is doing their best to will on an early summer with the release of Mango Rays Wheat Ale, a light, crisp and refreshing ale that features notes of mango up front with lingering tropical fruit notes, that clocks in at 5%. Mango Rays is available in 6-pack 12oz cans wherever great craft beer is sold. You can also find it on draft at any one of Southern Tier’s taprooms.

4. Celebrate Dyngus Day at These Breweries

Dyngus Day this year is Monday, April 10 and a number of local breweries are celebrating. On April 8 (5pm), One-Eyed Cat will host a free event featuring a krupnik tasting, live music, Redlinski’s Polish sausage and Simply Pierogi and the release of Squirt Gun Grodziskie and Polka-Geist, a Paczki-inspired blonde ale with raspberry, vanilla, and lactose. That same day, at 1pm, Flying Bison will host Pils, Pierogi & Polka featuring Polish and American food, live music and more. Tickets are $20 presale and include your first beer. Then, on Dyngus Day, Buffalo Brewing Company is welcoming people to the former Schreiber Brewing Company. The event will be held in the parking lot (12pm) in a heated tent with clear views of the parade, live music, six different beers and food. Tickets include admission and a souvenir plastic mug.

5. Two Favorites Return to Hamburg Brewing

Along with a refresh and rebrand in honor of their 10th anniversary this year, Hamburg Brewing is bringing back a pair of fan favorites to their lineup – Small Town White Ale, a refreshing and approachable unfiltered white ale, and Blackberry Gose, a slightly sweet and extremely crushable sour ale that’s brewed with blackberries, sea salt, and coriander. Both beers are available in 12oz. 6-pack cans wherever great craft beer is sold and on draft at the brewery.
