BONUS! See the rare Elephant Bird Egg!

When: On display now!

Have you ever heard of the Elephant Bird? They were massive, flightless birds believed to have been more than 10 feet tall and weighed 800 to 1100 lbs! Which, like, woah. These birds were once a common sight on the island of Madagascar but went extinct in the 17th century. Lucky for us, the Buffalo Museum of Science uncovered a massive 12-inch-long, 3 lb 5 ounce egg “hidden” in its collection. The egg is on display now in the Museum’s Rethink Extinct exhibit, so check it out!
