1. Tickets Now on Sale for New York State Craft Brewer’s Festival
Tickets are on sale for the New York State Craft Brewers Festival at Canalside on September 25 (2-6pm). For $55 ($65 day of), you will receive a 7oz. tasting glass, unlimited 3oz. beer samples and the opportunity to meet the brewers. Designated Driver tickets are also available ($15). More than 45 NYS breweries will be on hand, including 1927 Brew House, 42 North, Big Ditch, Britesmith Brewing, Community Beer Works, Eli Fish, Flying Bison, Pressure Drop and Wandering Gypsy Brewing, as well as food trucks, vendors and a farm-to-table tent.
2. New Fruited Sour, Hazy DIPA Coming to Thin Man
Thin Man Brewery will release a pair of new beers this weekend. Pitter Patter Plum Apricot Sour Ale, which features plum and strawberry on the nose with bright, juicy flavors with a bunch of apricot and dark stone fruit, and Rocket Sandals Hazy DIPA with Mosaic and Talus, which has a big dank mosaic berry character up front followed by ripe, sweet pineapple and candied orange. Available at all locations on September 3.
3. Hofbrauhaus to Hold Oktoberfest Parade & Barrel Tapping
Hofbrauhaus is tapping their Oktoberfest on September 1 at 7pm. This stronger lager-style beer, typically served at Oktoberfest in Munich, will be tapped by Bills Mafia co-founder Del Reid, who will serve as the Honorary Barrel Tapper. You can reserve your table at bit.ly/HofbrauhausReservations.
4. New Oat Cream IPA at Community Beer Works
From the mind of CBW Packaging & Warehouse Assistant DJ Railey, The Great Oatdoors is a collaboration with The Huntsman House of Tattoos, a veritable juice monster IPA brewed with Golden Promise Malt, loads of raw oats, London III ale yeast and double-dry hopped with Vic Secret, Enigma, Simcoe and Amarillo hops for a smooth mouthfeel that finishes big and juicy. The new beer will be released in cans and on draft on September 2 (3pm).
5. 12 Gates Teams With Taquito Lindo on New Pancho Billa Beer
To honor the memory of late Bills superfan Pancho Billa (Ezra Castro), 12 Gates Brewing has teamed up with Taquito Lindo to create Pancho’s Legacy Lager. Castro passed away on May 14, 2019, and in his honor, Taquito Lindo will be donating 5.14% of all sales at the restaurant to Pancho’s Packs via The Teacher’s Desk. Taquito Lindo will host a launch party on September 9 with 26 Shirts, who will be hosting a pop-up. For more information, visit www.theteachersdesk.org/panchopacks.
6. Pressure Drop to Release Oktoberfest, New Sour
On September 4, Pressure Drop Brewing will release October Harvest Oktoberfest and Happy Molecules Mango Lime Sour, a new collaboration with Thin Man Brewery (12-5pm). October Harvest is crisp and light with notes of caramel and raisin, while Happy Molecules features mango, touch of lime and a tart finish.
