Roycroft Campus is a beautiful sight to see and the Roycroft Inn is open for staycations and day trips, so naturally we recommend adding this National Historic Landmark to your spring 2021 bucket list.
Here’s 6 ways you can enjoy a day or stay in the heart of East Aurora this spring!
1. Take a tour of the Campus.
Be a tourist in your own backyard, and explore the Roycroft Campus on a guided tour. Your tour will be led by a staff member or docent who will take you around the Campus grounds and buildings to explore the architecture and history of the Roycroft Campus. You’ll learn facts and stories about the past, present, and future of this National Historic Landmark and authentic Arts & Crafts community!
Campus tours are $20 per person, and approximately 1.5 hours long. This tour is primarily outdoors, but also includes access to the Campus Museum. You can book a campus tour Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
2. Book a tour of the Museum.
The Museum is home to a historic collection of documents, books, furniture, and artwork showcasing Roycroft’s history and Elbert Hubbard’s legacy.
Through a combination of rotating and permanent exhibits, you can see rare, one-of-a-kind artifacts, and learn more about the people, products, and philosophy that made Hubbard and the Roycroft an important part of the Arts & Crafts Movement.
Museum tours are $10 per person, led by a staff member or docent, and most guests spend approximately 45 minutes exploring the exhibits.
Tours must be reserved and paid at least 48 hours in advance. There is a limit of 10 people per family/social circle. If you would like to schedule a tour, call (716) 655-0261 or email email@example.com.
3. Shop at The Copper Shop Gallery.
This artisan gallery and gift shop is located right on the historic Roycroft Campus. Inside, you’ll find handmade work by 100+ local and national artists, including wood, metal, glass, ceramics, block prints, etchings, paintings, wearable art, jewelry and more.
Plus, the Gallery is welcoming a new exhibit featuring hand-carved porcelain by Roycroft Artisan, Leslie Green Guilbault, which will be on display through July 3. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
4. Take a class or attend a virtual event.
Embrace your creative side by signing up for one of Roycroft’s on-site and virtual art classes and events. Here’s what’s coming up this spring, including one of WNY’s most unique fundraising events, the Roycroft Campus Art Lottery!
