mothers day
We all know there’s no way to repay our moms for everything they’ve done for us – teaching us how to read and write, always being there for us, you know bringing us into the world – but giving them something that makes their taste buds dance with joy is a good start. #always If you haven’t already picked up something special for mom – Mother’s Day is this Sunday, just in case you didn’t know – we recommend going with something delicious.
Fortunately, when it comes to delicious ways to say, “Thanks for everything, Mom!,” Buffalo is loaded with options. Below, we’ve compiled seven great local places where you can pick up gifts for your go to gal this Mother’s Day.

Choco Logo

141 Broadway, Buffalo NY 14203
Choco Loco is a wonderful spot for unique, artisan chocolates in Buffalo. The shop’s focus on premium ingredients and freshness will be appreciated by mom’s taste buds. Stop in this week and pick up some of their mouth-watering options like Salty Turtles, Buffalo Bark, Caramel Waves Bark, and Nutcorn. Mix a few items together, buy mom a nice card, and she’ll be more than happy with you until this time next year.

TeaLeafs WNY

5416 Main Street, Williamsville, NY 14221
If your mom loves tea, then your mom loves TeaLeafs WNY – even if she doesn’t know it yet. Located in Williamsville, NY, TeaLeafs offers over 165 varieties of loose leaf teas from around the world for mom to enjoy. The owners personally taste every tea before they buy it/sell it and also have new flavors available for tasting. You can stop in, pick up some loose leaf tea and pair it with custom teapots, English scones mixes, and other goodies that your mom will love.

Watson’s Chocolates

Multiple Locations
You could literally walk into Watson’s Chocolates, put on a blindfold and grab the first couple things you can find and you’d have an awesome gift for mom this year. From chocolate covered pretzels and nuts to caramels, turtles and everything in between, Watson’s is heavenly for those with a sweet tooth. And, let’s not forget Watson’s world famous, delicious sponge candy – you can buy it in ½ of whole pound boxes and mom will love you equally either way. Just don’t expect her to share, it’s that good.

Spring Lake Winery

7373 Rochester Rd., Lockport, NY 14094
Mothers, sons, daughters, we almost all love to relax and celebrate the ties that bond over a good glass of wine. Spring Lake Winery is a great place to take mom this year for a visit to their winery and café. With scores of local wines to choose from, Spring Lake also offers wine ice cream in such flavors as Red Raspberry Chardonnay, Chocolate Cabernet and Cherry Merlot. If you’re looking to schedule some time with mom for later in the year, sign yourselves up for one of the winery’s murder mystery train rides or leisurely weekend tours which conclude with drinks and music.

Ashker’s on Elmwood

1002 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo NY, 14222
We’ve talked a lot about chocolate so far, but there are healthy ways to make your mom’s taste buds happy, too. If you’re looking for a cool, healthier spot to take your mom this Mother’s Day or anytime you want to spend time with her, check out Ashker’s on Elmwood. Ashker’s is recognized for its fresh, delicious ingredients and dishes. Take her for breakfast; she might go with the Cinnamon French Toast. Take her for lunch and maybe she’ll grab a Sirloin Steak & Roasted Pepper Salad or a Garden Vegetable Panini. Either way, be sure to grab some of Ashker’s signature drinks juices and smoothies like the Elvis Parsley – parsley, celery, carrot, cucumber and lemon – or the Tropical Twist which features peach, strawberry, mango and pineapple.

Prima Olivia

Multiple locations in Hamburg, East Aurora and in the McKinley Mall
Prima Olivia is a go to store for fresh olive oil in Western New York and a great place for Mother’s Day gifts this year. Their stores offer more than 60 varieties of fresh olive oil from all over the globe along with herbs, spices, balsamic vinegars, sea salts, and more. Two stand-out items you should pick up for mom this year include Chipotle Infused Olive Oil and Balsamic Strawberry Jam. If those don’t work for you, Prima Olivia also offers pre-made gift baskets made for moms who love citrus & fruit, salads and/or popcorn – yum!

Five Points Bakery and Toast Cafe

44 Brayton Street, Buffalo NY 14213
Five Points Bakery is all about local products and community – and it’s the kind of place that makes baked goods that will make mom feel appreciated. In the five years since it’s opened its doors, Five Points Bakery has embedded itself in the Buffalo community and continues to use local wheat, honey, milk, eggs, and more from local farms. Bring mom for a bite or pick up delicious items like Apple Cider toast, Cinnamon Swirl whole grain bread, cinnamon rolls, cowboy cookies, brownies, scones, and more to build the ultimate Mother’s Day gift basket.
