A new year resets the clock, and reminds us to set goals for the coming months. Keeping your New Year’s resolutions starts with a plan. And the Jewish Community Center is sharing 8 ways to stay on track come 2018.
1. Challenge Yourself
Kicking ass literally pays. This 12-week weight loss challenge rewards winners by returning a percentage of membership fees for the most weight lost. This small group Personal Training challenge consists of a JCC Personal Trainer and 3 participants. The 90-day challenge begins on January 22 and ends on April 15.
2. Get Personal
Teaming up with a trainer is a major plus. Your personalized plan will be specifically designed to help you reach your goals. Decide how many sessions you’d like to purchase, and your personal trainer handles the rest.
Winter weather doesn’t have to mean the end of swimming season. You can swim laps all year-round at JCC’s campuses. They even offer fitness swim classes for swimmers who are looking for a challenge and those who have never learned to swim.
4. Explore Your Options
Joining the JCC grants you access to the cardio fitness centers, cycling studios, group exercise classes, racquetball courts, and locker rooms that have steam and saunas. This way, you can change up your workout frequently.
A little relaxation goes a long way. De-stress and ease your muscles after a workout by treating yourself to a massage session. Renewing your body and mind is good for your physical and mental health.
6. Try Something New
With so many classes to choose from, you have endless opportunities to get your fitness on. Cycling, yoga, Zumba, and pilates classes can all be added to your 2018 workout schedule.
Signing the kiddos up for an after-school program or a Saturday Night Out program is good for you, and good for them. It’s a win-win. The staff at JCC encourages and teaches creativity, cooperation, and fun.
