For many, Cinco de Mayo is a celebration involving plenty of tequila and tacos.  Regardless of where you celebrate it, you should end the night with a full belly (and a little bit of a foggy memory)!  Whether you’re in downtown Buffalo or the suburbs, a restaurant by you can accommodate your festive needs.  If you’re looking for somewhere new to celebrate with your friends, here is a list of some the best Cinco de Mayo Parties in Western New York!

Cantina Loco Cinco Days of Cinco

Where: Cantina Loco, 191 Allen St, Buffalo, NY 14201
When: Sunday, May 1st  – Thursday, May 5th
Cantina Loco takes Cinco de Mayo to a new level this year with its “Cinco Days of Cinco.”  As the title suggests, Cantina Loco will be offering different specials every day up to and including Cinco de Mayo!  On Cinco de Mayo, Cantina Loco offers $20 buckets of Corona, a Milagro Barrel Select tasting and Milagro and Solerno blood orange special from 7-9 pm, hornitos tasting from 4-6 pm, a Dos Equis happy hour from 4-6 pm with $1 off, and a Corona & Casa Noble tasting from 6-7pm.  For more information about Cantina Loco’s “Cinco Days of Cinco,” click here.

Deep South Taco Cinco de Mayo Street Fiesta

Where: Deep South Taco, 291 Ellicott St, Buffalo, NY 14203
When: Thursday, May 5th at 5 pm
If you’re looking for a high energy party with lots of activities, Deep South Taco’s street party is the way to go!  Not only will there be food, but, there will be live music — with a selection of four different bands and DJs!  Some of the activities included at Deep South Taco’s street party are face painting, live art, and giveaways — even Bentley from 103.3 The Edge will be covering the event.  Keep in mind that this event is for those 21 and over, and costs $5.00 for two people presale, and $5.00 at the door for one person.  A VIP package that includes a cabanas with a private bar and a buffet is also available! Coyote Cafe

Where: 36 Main St, Hamburg, NY 14075
When: Thursday, May 5 at 3 pm
Coyote Cafe will start Cinco de Mayo festivities by opening their bar at 3 pm!  A beer tent will be up 5pm along with live music by Reggie Childs outdoors at 7 pm.  You can also meet the Cuervo Girls and Corona Light Girls and catch some samples throughout the day!


Buffalo Proper Cinco de Mayo Taco Takeover

Where: 333 Franklin St, Buffalo, NY 14202
When: Thursday, May 5 at 5 PM
If you’re looking for a more low-key event, Buffalo Proper’s “Cindo de Mayo Taco Takeover” will be showcasing a menu from a joint effort — both Chef Victor Parra Gonzales of Jaguar at the Bistro and Chef Ed Forster are coming up with something special for their guests.  Mexican cocktails will also be served at the bar! Press Box Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

Where: 1841 Abbott Rd, Buffalo, NY 14218
When: Thursday, May 5 at 12 PM
Press Box will host a special Cinco de Mayo fiesta including plenty of drink and food specials, along with the company of Jose Cuervo promo girls (from 7-9 pm)!  Press Box will be offering a free taco/nacho bar from 4 – 6pm, and from 6pm-close, you can buy a Coronarita and get two free tacos!  Additionally, Press Box offers all day food and drink specials: $5 22oz margaritas, $4 16oz margaritas $2 Dos Equis, $5 quesadillas, $2 tacos, and $2 off nachos.  For more information on this event, click here.

Templeton Landing Season Kick Off Party

Where: 2 Templeton Terrace, Buffalo, NY 14202
When: Thursday, May 5 at 5 pm
Templeton Landing will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with an evening packed with Latin Entertainment by Son Boricua and festive drink and food specials for all! Pasion/Savoy Cinco de Mayo

Where: Pasion, 152 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo
When: Thursday, May 5 at 4pm – 11pm
Pasion and Savoy are teaming up to bring back the old Cinco de Mayo fiesta you knew and probably loved from Cozumel. This Thursday the Pasion parking lot will turn into a joint party kicking off with Vagrants from Pittsburg playing covers, a DJ lineup “for the ages”, a Dos Equis truck, Mexican street tacos, and more. Plus there will be tents, so don’t worry about that.

Cinco de Drinko

Where: Duke’s Bohemian Groove Bar
When: Thursday, May 5 at 7pm – May 6 at 7am
Cinco de Drinko is a 12 hour festival of free tacos and cheap Dos Equis and Peligroso Silver at Dukes. Soooooo that’s amazing. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Joel spinning Latin American Festival tunes followed by DJ Charles Masters. Time to Cinco de Drinko the night away!

When: Thursday, May 5 at
To top off the day of festivities, head over to 19 Ideas’ Cinco themed anniversary party. Lloyd Taco Trucks will make sure you’re fed while Community Beer Works will quench your thirst. Plus their staff is hand-infusing a variety of tequilas for your tasting.
