Wanna get a taste of what life is like for the Queen of England? Ok maybe her life isn’t *quite* like this, but in Clarence New York there’s a bed and breakfast Called the Asa Ransom House and it’s here to make all of your Queen dreams come true~

The Asa Ransom House, located about 30 minutes from the heart of downtown Buffalo, is a quiet bed and breakfast that offers an experience that’s truly unique to WNY: an afternoon of high tea. Classy af, we know.

Their website gives some background on the delicacy of tea and why the Ransom House is as close to drinking high tea in England as you can get: “Tea is one of the most popular beverages in the world, second only to water. More health-conscious Americans are turning to tea, rich in polyphenols, natural plant compounds with potent antibacterial and antiviral properties.” Ok fine we’re sold.

How it Works

To start off, afternoon tea is held in the Ransom Room, which is adorned with floral wallpaper, fireplace, and beautifully set tables. This sets the mood and gets you feelin’ reeeeal British. Once you start saying ‘ello instead of hello, you’re offish ready to enjoy an afternoon of tea with your bitches friends and/or family.

Note: Afternoon Tea is served by reservation only on Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. OR available for private parties other days by special reservation. So British of them.

To start, you’re presented with a choice of Harney & Sons teas, along with a pot of hot water. Shortly after you’ve enjoyed your first sips of high tea, a tiered tray of scones, sandwiches, and cakes arrives at your table. Savory sandwiches may include cucumber, chicken salad, and tuna. Cheesecake, chocolate cake, cookies, and fruit then complete the experience – which usually lasts between 1 or 2 hours.
