As you might expect, everyone in Buffalo has their own unique must-do list when it comes to visiting the area. And Buffalo Bills legend Thurman Thomas is no exception. He gave I❤️NY his ultimate guide to exploring Buffalo and the Greater Niagara region during football season. Here are a few of the things he included:

The Waterfront

One thing is for certain since Canalside has opened the Buffalo Waterfront area has been booming. From exploring the outdoors within city limits to enjoying the ice rink at Canalside starting in November, there is something for all outdoor lovers along the Buffalo Waterfront. Outdoor activities not your thing? Buffalo Riverworks, situated among and in grain silos, has craft beer, food, and activities for everyone.

Downtown & Design Masterpieces

Thurman highlights all the great downtown sights including Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin D. Martin House, the Rand Building, and Buffalo City Hall!

If you’re looking for something more, he recommends heading to the Buffalo History Museum with a collection that spans the Industrial Revolution, Native American History, and sports (including Thurman’s jersey and helmet!)

The Buffalo Wing Trail & More

While in Buffalo, Thurman recommends hitting up the Buffalo Wing Trail for the best wings in town. Schwabl’s, Charlie the Butcher, and Santora’s in Depew are some of his favorite spots to hit in Buffalo.
