Just in case you were out of the loop, and didn’t know that the one and only Bradley Cooper was adventuring around the Queen City, well now you know (you’re welcome.). You may have heard that our friend Bradley is starring in a new movie with a few other supporting actresses like Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. While much of the movie, Nightmare Alley directed by Guillermo Del Toro (Academy Award winner for The Shape of Water ) is set to be filmed in Toronto, some of the filming will involve a few Buffalo gems.

What we know about the plot:
Nightmare Alley is actually based off a book and remake of the 1947 film by the same name. Bradley Cooper will star as Stanton “Stan” Carlisle a con man who’s trickery eventually catches up to him. Fun fact: Leonardo DiCaprio was originally in negotiations to play the part.
Where Buffalo plays a role:
Thanks to this article from 92.9 Jack FM, we have the deets on all of the spots where Cooper and the crew had been filming. The film will focus on Buffalo’s old architecture since it’s said to have a 1940’s setting. Here’s some of the locations we will have to keep a look out for when the movie drops in theaters:
- Karpeles Museum in Buffalo
- City Hall — this for sure is a big deal, the traffic light was removed to make the filming more authentic to its time and old fashioned cars were included inside the parking ramp. Some cars for the film came from as far as NYC.
- South Buffalo — production vehicles were spotted around the area
As of the current production schedule, this film is set to be in theaters in early 2021.
