Twice a year Buffalonians, both seasoned vets and novices alike, step out into the local restaurant scene to experience our vast culinary offerings. Whilst browsing the Local Restaurant Week (10/16 – 10/22) website, we stumbled upon a drop-down that I haven’t seen in the past – brunch! Yes, your favorite meal of the week is now more accessible than ever during your favorite week of the year. We’ve done the dirty work for you and compiled the master list of destinations serving brunch for Local Restaurant Week. I’ve even added a couple of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots so you can decide for yourself all week long!

Acropolis Brunch

Elmwood Village, 708 Elmwood Ave  //  Open Monday – Friday at 9am, Saturday & Sunday at 8am

Acropolis is one of my favorite places to grab a solid weekday brunch. They have a delicious, spicy house bloody mary and a menu full of Greek and American specialties. LRW menu is available at the restaurant.

Casa Azul

Downtown, 128 Genesee St  //  Brunch served Saturday 11:30am – 3pm

If you haven’t experienced Casa Azul’s brunch yet – now’s the time. For further persuasion, the chicken poblano hash will definitely find itself on my favorite brunch dishes of the year. For LRW, you can choose two brunch entrees from a set menu and two of their specialty mimosas for $20.17.

Breakfast Pizza at Merge

Downtown, 439 Delaware Ave  //  Brunch served Saturday 11:30am – 3pm

merge is Buffalo’s premier vegan eatery, but it doesn’t stop there. Their menus entice veg-lovers and carnivores alike, and their drink program is stellar – whether you want a healing juice or a champagne-heavy mimosa. LRW brunch menu is available at the restaurant.

New Moon Cafe // Photo x Facebook

New Moon Cafe

North Buffalo, 1685 Hertel Ave  //  Open Tuesday – Sunday 7:30am – 3pm

This quaint rock-n-roll themed cafe opened on Hertel in August and has been wowing North Buffalo since. Skip the booze here and grab some specialty teas from their tea bar! LRW menu available at the restaurant.

Raclettes Croissant French Toast // Photo from Raclettes Facebook

Downtown, 537 Main St  //  Brunch served Saturday & Sunday 11am – 3pm

Raclettes is a casual French bistro with a wonderful ambiance and staff. If croissant french toast doesn’t get you through the doors of a restaurant, I honestly can’t help you. During LRW, you’re invited to enjoy two brunch entrees and two sides for just $20.17.

Soho Burger Bar

Downtown, 64 W Chippewa St  //  Brunch served Sunday 11am – 4pm

Soho is one of Chippewa’s longest-standing restaurants, and winner of Buffalo’s best burger in the OG ‘best of’ days. Their LRW brunch deal may be the best yet: two entrees, one side to share, two brunch cocktails and two desserts for $20.17.

The Mess Hall

Southtowns, 717 Ridge Rd  //  Brunch served Sunday 10am – 3pm

The Mess Hall is a quick ten-minute drive from downtown Buffalo and it is so worth it. I’d dare say they win the award for most unique comfort food brunch dishes in WNY. Take, for example, the ‘Hot Little Mess’: house-made southern fried chicken fingers, sausage jalapeño gravy, biscuit and a sunny-side-up egg. LRW menu available at the restaurant.

The Terrace at Delaware Park

North Buffalo, 199 Lincoln Pkwy  //  Brunch served Friday – Sunday 11am – 3pm

The Terrace opened this summer, and ever since the scenery and food have been delighting Buffalonians from a variety of demographics. Enjoy their upscale pub menu during LRW. Brunch specials will be available at the restaurant, and in true Shatzel fashion, we’re willing to bet you can find a drink included in the deal.

This Little Pig

Northtowns, 4401 Transit Rd  //  Brunch served Sunday 10am – 2pm

This Little Pig is one of WNY’s newest restaurants and a big to-do on your list of places to hit up. Their scratch kitchen, hip atmosphere and lengthy bar is sure to bring crowds once word-of-mouth catches. For LRW, you can choose one entree and an ‘extra’ for $20.17. HINT: mimosas and Bloody Mary’s are indeed found on the ‘extras’ list. They’re also throwing in a complimentary bread basket. And take it from me – their bread is TDF.
