Southern Tier Brewing Company Heads Even Further South

After months of planning and execution, Southern Tier Brewing has announced that they will officially open their first ever satellite brewpub in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in January 2017. The brewpub will open its doors at 316 North Shore Drive and will feature a full food menu as well as both pub-exclusive and classic Southern Tier beers, which will be brewed onsite, as well as a 10,000 sq. ft. outdoor beer garden. “Enough delays and waiting. We’re proud to officially announce that we’re opening up in mid-January 2017!” the brewery says. Things Will Get Ugly (Sweater That Is) at World Of Beer

Eat, drink, and be merry at the 2nd Annual World of Beer Ugly Sweater Party, which goes down Friday, December 16 at 6:30pm. Sport your ugliest and tackiest holiday-themed sweater and enjoy some of the finest local brews from the likes of Ellicottville Brewing Company, Four Mile Brewing, Hamburg Brewing Company, Woodcock Brothers Brewery & Southern Tier. Oh, and you can win prizes as well. While the finalized tap list is to be determined, you can expect to see pints of Ellicottville Lloyd’s Christmas Ale, Hamburg 3rd Anniversary Imperial Porter, Woodcock Stiff Mitten and Southern Tier 2Xmas. So sweater up and let’s get ugly.

You know what pairs perfectly with Christmas cookies? No, not milk – beer. Introduce yourself to the marriage of cookies and beer at the 2nd Annual Christmas Cookie and Beer Party at Pearl Street Brewery on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 5pm. Taking place in Brawler’s Deli (located in the basement of Pearl Street), the event pairs freshly made Christmas cookies with local holiday spiced beer – 42 North Brewing’s Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Brown Ale, Big Ditch Brewing’s Fresh Baked, Community Beer Works’ Oh Snap! Gingerbread Stout and Pearl Street’s own Gingerbread Cookie Brown Ale. Bring in a dozen homemade Christmas cookies and get a free flight, then pick your favorite to get discounted pints during Happy Hour!


Buffalo Brewing Company Extends Their Hours & Tap List

Buffalo Brewing Company has extended their hours of operation to Thursday, where they will now be open 4-8pm (Sunday hours will also be added early next year). In addition to their current roster of 1804 APA, 1813 Porter, 1842 Vienna Lager, 1826 Oktoberfest, 1764 Strong Ale and 1827 Wet Hop Ale, BBC also plans to add 1910 Pilsner, a traditional Czech Pilsner with German and Czech ingredients, and 1901 IPA, a 92 IBU beer featuring generous amounts of Loral, Citra and Mosaic hops (both should be available before Christmas). The brewery is also running a $1 off pint special all December long, as well as a 3/$22 crowler special. Cheers!
