12 Gates Brewing Celebrate Fall Early with New Fest Bier

While it may not yet be fall officially, 12 Gates Brewing are getting into the spirit with the release of their Fest Bier on September 1 at noon. The authentic Munich Oktoberfest Lager pours a golden color with a malty, easy to drink character. After the Fest Bier is tapped, German music will be streaming throughout the day, there will be $7 specials on Bavarian pretzels, a Stein Hoist Competition at 6pm (limited to first 20 entrants, $3 entry fee includes beer fill for 32oz mug, $25 gift certificate to the winner), and live music from Steve Balesteri, 7-10pm. Prost!

Woodcock to Release New Wet Hopped IPA

Woodcock Brothers Brewing is releasing the second of their Wet Hopped IPA series, a Chinook Wet Hopped IPA brewed with Chinook Wet hops and Simcoe, on Sept. 1. “We absolutely LOVED last year’s Wet Hop IPA; it was a huge hit with our customers and fans,” the brewery says of their wet hopped IPA series. “Tons of rain this year in WNY resulted in this crop of hops from Niagara Hops being pungently aromatic and very, very sticky.” The Chinook version follows Woodcock’s Centennial Wet hopped IPA brewed with Centennial wet hops and Citra. Both are available at the brewery.

42 North Hosts First Annual Festival of Hops

The First Annual Festival of Hops is coming to the biergarten at 42 North Brewing on Sept. 2 (1-4pm).
