Four Buffalo Breweries Win Medals at TapNY Beer Festival
For the fourth straight year, WNY breweries were well represented on the medal podium at the TAP New York Craft Beer & Food Festival, with four breweries taking home a total of six medals. Resurgence Brewing won Gold in the India Pale Ale category for their flagship Resurgence IPA, Big Ditch Brewing took home three medals (Silver/Brown Ales – Excavator, Silver/IPAs – Packet, Bronze/Strong IPA – Deep Cut DIPA), Pressure Drop Brewing grabbed a silver (Porter – Buckstar Porter), and Steelbound Brewing won bronze (Light Ales <6% – Better Red Ale). Shelton Brothers Announce Location, Ticket Sales for The Festival 2019
Shelton Brothers Importers have announced that The Festival 2019 will take place at the historic Central Terminal in Buffalo this fall. Festival organizers said that the former railroad station was exactly what they were looking for. While both Friday and Saturday VIP sessions sold out online in just a few minutes, Early Bird General Admission tickets still remain for both days. GA Friday 5-9pm ($60), GA Saturday 3-7pm ($70), DD Friday & Saturday ($10) and All-Weekend Passes ($110) remain for sale. You can purchase your tickets online here. The Festival 2019 will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 4-5.
Four Mile Brewing Set to Celebrate Fourth Anniversary This Weekend
Olean’s Four Mile Brewing are ringing in their fourth birthday with a day full of drink and food specials, live music, special raffles and a beer release on May 4 (12pm). The party will feature the release of South Pacific IPA (draft, 4-pack 16oz. cans), brewed with three varieties of New Zealand hops for tropical fruit notes with hints of stone fruit and lychee that finishes with resinous piney bite, as well as $4 beers during the Kentucky Derby and a raffle for a ticket to the Enchanted Mountain Brewfest (July 13) and the Estival Festival. Ellicottville Brewing on Chautauqua to Open for 2019 Season
While it may not exactly seem like it, warmer weather is indeed on the horizon, and if you need some evidence, look no further than Ellicottville Brewing on Chautauqua, which opens May 3 (3pm) for the 2019 season. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Bemus Point Library, with EBC donating $1 from every beer and all bar tips, along with basket raffles and a book drive. Dan Vogan (6-8p) and Lakeside Stroll (8-11p) will provide live entertainment. In addition to all of their flagship beers, EBC will release a new New England IPA for the special occasion.
