Buffalo Bison’s Offer Great Events & Eats
The Buffalo Bisons, Triple A baseball affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, enter their 129th season looking to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2005. While the team performs on the field, the first rate organization has some great promotional events planned to give their fans a championship-like ballpark experience. Here is a list of what’s going on throughout the season:
fridaynightbash!: Coca Cola Field is the place to be on Friday nights in Buffalo. Not only will you get to watch the Bisons in action, you get to enter the ballpark at 5:00PM to watch the Bisons warmup and take advantage of drink specials at the Coca Cola Field Craft Brew Corner. Stick around after the game and also enjoy an amazing fireworks display in center field.
Dates: April 11th, May 2nd, May 16th, May 30th, June 6th, June 20th, June 27th, July 11th, July 25th, August 1st, and August 22nd.
Markdown Mondays: Everyone is looking to save money and the Bisons have continued their MarkDown Mondays to help Bisons fans do just that. On Monday games, ticket prices go from $11 down to $7 if you buy them in advance or $8 if you buy them at the gate. Also, select concessions items will be just $1! Could you imagine getting a Coke, a hot dog, or popcorn for just $1? WHAT SAVINGS!
Dates: April 14th, April 28th, May 29th, June 2nd, June 23rd, July 28th, August 11th, and August 25th.
TWOsday: Another great way to save at the ballpark this season is TWOsdays. Evident by its name, the number 2 is used all around Coca Cola Field to save you money. First off, you get TWO tickets for the price of one at the box office. Also, for those of you that are 21 and over, there are TWO-dollar specials on Labatts and Blue Light beverages. Last and certainly not least, select concessions are TWO dollars.
Do you see the number TWO all over TWOsdays?
Dates: April 15th, April 29th, May 13th, May 20th, June 3rd, June 24th, July 29th, August 12th, August 19th, and August 26th.
Annual traditions that will continue at the ball park this year:
Star Wars Night: Saturday June 7th. There will be character appearances, customized jerseys that will be auctioned off and on field battles, along with post-game fireworks for everyone to enjoy.
Independence Eve Celebration: Thursday July 3rd. Not only is it America turning 238 this season, the Bisons are celebrating the 20th year of the Independence Eve Celebration. The game itself is a 9 inning (or more) long celebration of everything that is great about the United States of America. There will be post game concert by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus and the largest fireworks show of the year. Come out and celebrate AMERICA!
What’s new on the menu?
When you go to Coca Cola, you almost always have to have some ballpark treats. You have your mainstays. Your hot dogs. Your cheeseburgers. Your popcorn. Your pop and beer. But each ballpark has a unique menu to give the fans of that team a chance to eat some new things each time they come to the ballpark. In 2014, the Bisons have added Mini Tacos that will be served with a side of salsa, Loaded Baked Potato Bites, and Mac n’ Cheese. Fans will also be able to purchase from the Bison’s Wine Cart right from their seat, as the cart becomes mobile, and they have local brews on tap including Hamburg and Flying Bison.
For fans that like to dine or watch the game from Pettibones Grille, they will be able to enjoy new menu items. Those new items include Braised Short Ribs with mashed potatoes and Sesame Chicken Skewers served over salad. You can now put a spin on traditional burger by putting the burger on a Pretzel Rolls. Making their debut on the Pettibones Grille menu this year are Po’ Boy Fish Sandwiches and the Turkey Sandwich on Cinnamon Bread with Caramelized Apple and Maple Glaze.
And the Bisons didn’t forget the suite level. If you are in the suites this season, you can try Crab Cakes and MU Dessert Cordials.
Lets just say my mouth is watering just writing this article. I can’t imagine trying all these great new menu items.
