Hours: Dawn-Dusk

Details: To out-of-towners, it may seem odd to spend the day walking through a graveyard.  I mean, people even have their wedding photos taken in the famous cemetery. I suppose at face value, yeah…it’s a little strange. That is, until you check it out and see why. Forest Lawn was one of the first designed and professionally landscaped rural cemeteries in the United States.  If you have yet to check it out yourself, you can enjoy a walk through the grounds full of history, art, architecture, waterways and more. Research stories about the permanent residents at Forest Lawn like Rick James, Millard Fillmore, and Darwin Martin just to name a few.  I highly suggest bringing your camera to take photos of the stunning landscapes.

Where to Eat: At Merge, you’ll find a menu full of organic, vegan, grass fed, vegetarian, and gluten-free options to choose from.  Their Moroccan Stuffed Acorn Squash is full of veggies, protein-packed beans and nuts, and a delicious ginger coconut almond sauce. Just because Merge is notorious for their vegan and vegetarian options, doesn’t mean you can’t add chicken and shrimp to their dishes if you prefer!
