Did you know? America’s original platinum award-winning krupnik is made right here in Buffalo by our friends at Buffalo Distilling Company.
Their Krupnik has a gentle sweetness of local raw wildflower honey that dissolves into a rich cascade of warm baking spice and bright fresh zested citrus. Sounds dreamy, right?
Their original krupnik starts as vodka which is mashed, fermented, and distilled on-site from a mash of 100% WNY corn. Then they add 100% raw WNY honey and real citrus fruit and crushed spices.
Twice a year, they fill two lucky single barrel bourbon barrels with this lovely elixir and rest it for several years. The flavors mellow over time to create a whole new tasting experience.
This year’s small batch has notes of vanilla, nougat, and sponge cake making this edition decidedly different. There really isn’t anything else like it on the market.
Buffalo Distilling has two Krupnik-themed events coming up later this month, and here’s what you need to know about them.
Limited! Barreled Krupnik Release!
Saturday, March 27 from 12 to 5 p.m. at Buffalo Distilling
Be among the first to try this year’s barrel of award-winning Krupnik aged for a year in bourbon barrels. This barreled Krupnik is like no other Krupnik in the world, and the release will be limited.
Mini Krupfest 2021
Saturday, March 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Buffalo Distilling
Dyngus Day is typically one of the busiest days of the year for this tasting room. This year’s reimagined celebration may be smaller, but it still includes all the essentials. You can expect polka music, Polish food and Krupnik, of course. You need a ticket to attend which you can purchase online.
P.S. 42 North Brewing is also releasing a limited edition Krupnik barrel aged quad and scotch ale on April 3. You’ll be able to try it in their taproom in East Aurora and in Buffalo Distilling’s tasting room.
