It’s been one year since they opened and Thin Man Brewery is just as popular as the day they opened. On June 17th the one and only Elmwood Village Brewery is celebrating the milestone by hosting a First Anniversary Summer Solstice Street Festival, which is literally the best event news we’ve heard all year. Because if there’s one thing Buffalonians should celebrate, it’s the Summer Solstice.
While plenty of beerz will surely be consumed, you’ll want to come with an appetite too because Chef Bruce Wizela will be roasting a pig (UMMMMMMMMM YAS) and serving up a seafood boil that, if missed, will cause you so much FOMO it might physically hurt. Hey, we don’t make the FOMO rules, we just follow them.
What exactly is a Summer Solstice Festival you ask? From 12 pm -10 pm, Elmwood Avenue between Utica Street and Hodge Avenue will be closed off to greet the summer season with food, beer (DUH), and music. And probably some flower crowns.
Rest assured, there will be easy access to the two existing bars inside, which will include full beer, wine, and cocktail service. Plus, there will be even easier access to beer via the beer truck they’ll have parked outside.
As for the music…Don’t forget the music. You’ll want to bring your street dancing shoes. Local musicians will be on hand to keep your feet movin’ and groovin’ – drink in hand of course. Most of the bands even consist of Shatzel Group staff and employees. How cute is that? Bands playing at the event include Aircraft, RADARADA, First Ward, The CPX, * Dr Ooo (Drew Hartman), Super-Tugger, Uncle Ben’s Remedy, Samuel Marabella and His Band, Ten Cent Howl, and Church Key Social.
Tickets for the June 17 festival are now available online at eventbrite.com. General Admission (Only $10) includes admission, a Thin Man pint glass, and your first beer fill. Now we’re talkin.
VIP tickets ($20) include everything included in General Admission, plus an event t-shirt, and second-floor access during the festival (which includes a second bar and additional bathrooms). Did someone say second bar?
Food is available for purchase throughout the day and includes a pig roast, salads, ABV burgers, seafood boil, and more.
