Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association is 501(c) 3 located along the Buffalo River at 405 Ohio St in the Old First Ward.
We are Buffalo’s newest state-of-the-art rowing facility. We stand by our mission to facilitate safe and equitable access to the Buffalo River through rowing programs and to provide affordable recreation and educational opportunities to young men and women. Our values include safety, teamwork, inclusion, diversity, integrity, character building, self-fulfillment, community & fun. BSRA’s vision is to become an all inclusive regional leader in community-based rowing.
BSRA’s goal is to build rowing teams while expanding safe, fun and affordable community access to the waterfront. We recognize the sport of rowing is perceived as an elite, and predominantly white sport and our members are actively engaged in making the sport a reflection of the Western New York community. BSRA specifically addresses the issues of inclusivity and affordability by offering an array of programs and financial assistance through corporate and membership driven scholarships. Future programs will provide afterschool academic support for students and with universal access, we intend to extend rowing to those with physical challenges and disabilities thus creating an adaptive rowing program.
