We’ve been indulging in and selling beautiful women’s clothing since 1982.
We opened our first ‘brick and mortar’ shop in East Aurora, New York in November of 1982, and then a second store in Buffalo in 1987. Going by the names The Dress Shop and The Allen Street Dress Shop, in these stores we’ve always sold the latest creative and interesting women’s fashions, always drawing specifically from those great small ‘niche’ designers. Initially we simply carried a smattering of vintage pieces to complement our lines.
Now it’s fair to say that Wallflower Vintage itself has existed since 1998 or so. In 1998 we started carrying vintage clothing as a regular line in our stores. We’ve always loved the character and style that’s so spectacular in vintage – the character of the various eras, and the class and style and quality that’s expressed so well in those times.
Each of our pieces has been cleaned and gone over with a sharp eye for quality, so we can specify if there are any vintage flaws. The great majority of our pieces are in perfect condition, some were never worn, and many have been worn only gently, and well cared for. We want you to clearly know what you’re getting, so we photograph all flaw details and specify them in our descriptions for you.
We’ve gathered a gorgeous selection over these years – you’ll be excited with what you see on our pages! We add to our inventory continually, so remember, the vintage piece you’ve been dreaming about may come up tomorrow, if you don’t see it today.
