DAY #10: Casa-di-Pizza
Elmwood Village
SOB Listing
Pizza Journal: Casa-di-Pizza on Elmwood has a dining room, bar and a banquet area. Their menu offers a whole slew of apps, salads, subs, pizzas and tons of pastas. Some sounded seriously good, like the Gnocchi with Vodka Cream Sauce and once again I was tempted to stray from my mission. But I stuck to the plan – cheese and pepperoni pizza, and I wish I hadn’t. Now, it’s important to remember, that just because I didn’t enjoy the pizza, a place like this has tons more to offer – as do most of the places I have and will visit. That being said, I would go back to try that gnocchi, not so much for another round of pizza. It was overwhelmingly doughy. To match that dough you would need some serious balance from the other ingredients, and it didn’t happen. Not my style.
Tester Observations:
CRUST: very overwhelming and doughy
SAUCE: not much sauce at all
CHEESE:Â a lot of cheese, thick, too much
PEPPERONI:Â no distinct flavor, very greasy
