While some of us (ahem, me) may not be super familiar with opera, we’re always down to check out new and interesting things happening in Buffalo. Nickel City Opera is doing just that with these opera centric events featuring Director Valerian Ruminski. The events are meant to get WNY excited for their big show this June, SHOT!. Leading up to the show the company will be doing several interesting events at unique venues including the Ellicott Square Building, Silo City, and the Buffalo History Museum. Here is a round up of their free/cheap events Nickel City Opera has coming up to get your feet wet and get ready for SHOT!
Snacks & Singing 4/24
DiCamillo’s Bakery @ 6pm
This event features music varying from opera to Broadway to jazz plus delicious cofectionary products from DiCamillo’s historic Bakery.

Behind the Curtain: The Making of SHOT! 5/11
Buffalo History Museum, One Museum Court in Buffalo @ 6pm
This event will include a discussion with Nickel City Opera on the original opera dramatizing the assassination of President McKinley.
Acoustic Opera at Silo City 5/20
Silo City, 90 Childs Street in Buffalo @ 6pm
For this once in a life time experience, join Valerian Ruminski for an acoustic experience in the 90 food high silo near the canal. A short excerpt of SHOT! will be performed. This event is $5 per person. Buy tickets here.
