Big Big Table will help to reduce the stigma of need, promote healthy and local eating, build community in our diverse city, and provide workforce development through volunteer opportunities.”
Big Big Table will bring an already developed sustainable social enterprise model to Western New York.
“We are a member of One World Everybody Eats, a network of 60+ organizations around the world utilizing this Community Café model to feed their neighbors. Academics and the restaurant industry are beginning to cite community cafés as one of the newest advances toward addressing food inequities and trends in food-system optimization. Once we open, Big Big Table will be able to run sustainably using ongoing food sales, volunteer labor, and donations. Big Big Table will feed our community, nourishing body and soul while bringing people together.”
