The plentiful, unique growing season in Western New York is something to be celebrated. Despite the abundance of produce available, many families are facing food insecurity challenges, especially since the start of the pandemic last spring. Patti Green, founder of Passport to the World, is mission-driven to highlight healthy, accessible produce and educate the community on how to prepare fresh and vibrant meals through the new Farm to Fork program. The community and media partners are invited to take part in a special program announcement on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11:00am Braymiller Markets, 225 Ellicott Street, Buffalo.

Healthy living ambassador Patti Green, The MolinaCares Accord in New York, Allison DeHonney of
Buffalo Go Green/Urban Fruits & Veggies, and Braymiller Markets, along with incredible local chefs, will come together to curate seasonally-inspired meal kits. The meal kits will be filled with produce, grocery items, and recipes needed to create delicious meals at home. Participating restaurants include Ristorante Lombardo, The Little Club, The Plating Society, and more. Members of the community can order the meal kits weekly and enjoy eating fresh local produce throughout the growing season. A percentage of the sale of each meal kit will provide virtual cooking classes and additional meal kits for those without access or the means to prepare healthy meals for themselves or their families.

“I’m so happy to collaborate with local restaurant chefs and area farmers to create and sell these
seasonally-inspired meal kits. The proceeds from the sales will allow me to continue my work to  educate, nourish, and inspire those living with food insecurity,” said Patti Green.

To help empower and educate those living with food insecurity, Patti and her team will be offering a free 4-week virtual cooking class, courtesy of The MolinaCares Accord. Patti Green will lead virtual cooking instruction, alongside Allison DeHonney of Buffalo Go Green/Urban Fruits & Veggies, who will share her knowledge of growing education. Those interested in participating in the free 4-week program are asked to enroll at farmtofork716.com, as space is limited.
