Kenmore Farmers Market Announces 2022 Season
Kenmore, N.Y. Looking to support the Eat Local movement this summer? Stop by the intersection of Delaware Rd. & Delaware Ave. this Sunday morning as the Village of Kenmore kicks off a new farmers market season! Each week, from June 19th through October 16th, the Kenmore Village Green (at 2919 Delaware Ave.) comes alive with local food producers and loads of excited community members. This food-based, producer-only market celebrates Opening Day this Sunday by hosting a fantastic line-up of 30+ fresh and prepared foods with a strong commitment to craft production.
Market manager, Lauren Willett-Benson states, “The Kenmore Farmers Market is a special kind of community marketplace. The visitors are unbelievably warm and supportive, and our collective of vendors is diverse, innovative, and collaborative. Our main mission is to provide WNY neighbors with the opportunity to shop direct from friendly small businesses and forge connections with local makers, producers, and growers while learning about their products and process.”
Fan favorites include fresh local produce, honey and maple syrup, gorgeous (and delicious) baked goods, handmade dumplings and knishes, sustainable seafood, small-batch coffee, kitchen staples like olive oil, infused vinegars, spices, herbal products, teas, and jams, CBD wellness products, pet treats, cut flower bouquets and more! Newer additions include hot breakfast sandwiches, artisan date bars, pickles, fresh pressed organic juice, and roasted nuts! A few vendors will be trickling in over the next several weeks so be sure to visit often!
The market opens this weekend and runs from 9am-1pm each Sunday through fall. With live musicians each week, monthly story time with the Kenmore Branch Library (and visits from the Erie County Library bookmobile), and other special pop-ups, you won’t want to miss it. There is ample parking within walking distance of the market including public parking available in municipal lots behind businesses that line Delaware Avenue, as well as on the surrounding streets. The market asks that we continue to respect our neighbor’s personal space, utilize hand sanitizer available in vendor tents, stay home if feeling under the weather, and mask when necessary. No public restrooms will be available at this time.
