“Christmas Blessing” is a charity in honor of John Tolley who passed away about a year and a half ago at 49 at his sleep. John Tolley believed you should always give and never receive so The Tolley Family about 3 years ago forgo-ed giving each other gifts, and decided then to give to those that didn’t have any. Right after John passed away we did this on a larger scale, and we started Christmas blessing where we adopt homeless men, women – and children in our area. From there we have began to also help terminally ill children, families with children in treatment that might need help with Christmas, and now those who have been affected by COVID-19 and are unable to make ends meet. With adopting homeless shelters in the area, and other organizations we also adopt full families who no longer are homeless but can’t afford to pay anything more than their bills. Last year we were able to adopt 15 families, a full shelter of homeless children and mothers ( over 100) and chronically homeless individuals Who spend their Christmas outside, as well as some children fighting childhood cancer. With the help of the community and local businesses as drop off centers we were able to collect HUNDEREDS of gifts. We then began to bag, and wrap them- a labor of love. But being Buffalo “The City of Good Neighbors” we need YOUR help!
This year we have 8 local businesses ranging from boutique gyms to Buffalos largest car dealerships collecting gifts on our behalf to help meet the needs of all Buffalonians, homeless men & women, and children in our backyard. With over 100 children, 20 families, and terminally ill kids in need I know we can get the need met.
Stating December 1st there will be 8 and counting business’s that are going to be collecting New, and unwrapped gifts for men, women, and children of all ages. As of 11/7/2020 anyone will be able to donate gifts, and gift card to Sweat Society, Modern Nostalgia, Gramma Moras, Sweet Pea Bakery, OWN NY Real-estate, Just Pizza Amherst, Vogue Salon & Day Spa, Paddock Chevrolet, and Seneca One.
