New year, new coaster.

Attention thrill junkies: Darien Lake is welcoming a new ride to the park this summer. It’s called the Tantrum, and it’s for daredevils only. Straight up fun means exactly what it sounds like. Yes, that means riding at a 90-degree angle. This coaster is not kidding around.

Once you strap in, you’ll begin the 98-foot journey to the top of the hill. This entire time you’ll be 100% vertical. Taking a hill on straight up is no joke, especially because in a matter of seconds you’ll be sent down into a 97-degree drop and pretzel inversion.

Brace yourself for the ultimate adrenaline rush. With speeds exceeding 50 mph, you’re in for a seriously thrilling ride. Post-drop, this coaster snakes through all sorts of turns and loops. If you are a can’t stop, won’t stop thrill seeker, this ones for you.

All in all riding this coaster sounds an accomplishment for any thrill seeker. Did you know? The Tantrum has steepest drop of any coaster in New York or Ontario. Cause it does.

Darien Lake is opened May 5, and as of this past weekend, so is The Tantrum. It’s time to find a friend or few who live for thrills, like you, and plan a day at the theme park.

Pro Tip #1: If you’re addicted to thrills, opt for a season pass. This way, no way can limit how many times you board this coaster.

Pro Tip #2: If you buy 4 or more season passes, each one is only $64.99 plus tax for the entire 2018 season aka this deal is a steal.
