Bob and Dan Syracuse talked about opening a brewery of their own for four decades. Now after 42 years in business, their quest to open their own brewery is finally complete.
Their new nano brewery, Pod City Beer Labs, located inside Pizza Plant’s Canalside location officially opened at the end of October.
Their brewer, Evan Flury, created 3 new beers you’ll want to try when you visit.

1. Patsy’s Pils
Their first beer on tap was Patsy’s Pils. This 4.5% Golden Czech Pilsner was named to honor Bob and Dan’s grandfather. It’s brewed with Czech Floor Malted Pils malt and Sladek and Kazbek hops for crispy, dry and slightly lemony notes with a light malt sweetness on the finish.
2. Inferno Pod Ale
Their second beer, Inferno Pod Ale, is a Amber West Coast-style India Pale Ale. It’s brewed with Columbus, Tomahawk and Zeus (CTZ) and Cascade hops and has a dank, piney taste, with notes of orange and grapefruit.

3. Lupulino Hazy IPA
Last but certainly not least is their Hazy IPA. Lupulino Hazy IPA is an unfiltered ale brewed with Eclipse, Citra, Mosaic and Riwaka hops for an overripe tropical fruit zest.

You can try all of the above when you visit Pod City Beer Labs at Pizza Plant Canalside! And yes, we recommend pairing them with one of their famous pods, of course!
