This week – think beautiful bakery, noodle heaven, a cozy lodge & a big giant gorilla?

Eat @. You might be wondering what the heck that means. “Eat @”? you probably said to yourself again. I can picture it now. Anyway, it’s more like Eat @………this Bakery, that bar or some spiffy new restaurant. This, my friends is where we here at Step Out Buffalo, recommend you Eat @ this weekend.

Elm Street Bakery

Neighborhood: East Aurora

They may be a bakery with some bangin’ bread (and that wonderful just baked bread smell) but they also have a full menu to experience. Home made, local + seasonal is how they do it at this small town, enchanting gem in East Aurora. They have wood-fired pizzas, soups, salads + more. Located off the beaten path of main street, the bakery will make you feel like you’re on vacation when you round the corner + catch a glimpse.

Tue, Wed, Thu 7 am to 7 pm • Fri 7 am to 8 pm • Sat 8 am to 8 pm • Sun 9 am to 2 pm • closed Monday

Kaydara Noodle Bar

Neighborhood: Theater District

They love noodles. It says so right on their store front. You don’t have to love regular old noodles to love this place. Just have to be up for something a tad more eccentric than your average suburban pizza place.  Which I’m guessing most of you are (hopefully). Order a little of everything + be ware of the splash factor when sipping broth – food on shirt is not a good look.

Mon 11-3 + 5-10 • Tues closed • Wed 11-3 + 5-10 • Thurs 11-3 + 5-10 • Fri 11-3 + 5-11 • Sat 4-11 • Sun 12-8

Stags Head

The Lodge Bar + Grill

Neighborhood: Chippewa

Your mind will wander as you slowly make your way through the space, trying to wakl + not miss a beat at the same time. The design is that good. If you miss something, just ask the cool, calm + collected staff and gawk as they point out things you quite possibly could have missed on your first few visits without explanation. We like this place because it sets new standard. What we want the Buffalo food scene to evolve towards. (hey, anything’s possible)

Mon: 11:00 am – 12:00 am • Tue – Thu: 11:00 am – 1:00 am • Fri – Sat: 11:00 am – 2:00 am • Sun: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm

Allen Street Hardware Cafe

Neighborhood: Allentown

Downright good, comfort food with an edge. A casual bar setting with tables around, perfect for a date (you won’t have to worry about other people listening in like I did during lunch today – always a plus). Romance could definitely blossom in a place like this. Or if thats not exactly what you’re looking for, perfect for a group too, make of it what you wish. The food is good + the menu items have a kick to them.

Mon – Thu: 5:00 pm – 12:00 am • Fri – Sat: 5:00 pm – 2:00 am • Sun: 5:00 pm – 12:00 am
