The Tenth Annual Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival will be held Thursday, April 27 through Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the Japanese Garden in Delaware Park and The Buffalo History Museum.
The festival’s highlight is a ‘hanami’ (cherry blossom viewing) in the garden. Activities during the weekend include live music, pink boat rides, taiko drumming, a pink parade, origami, Japanese cultural displays and food trucks. A pop-up Tea Ceremony will be held on the Portico of the The Buffalo History Museum, overlooking the Garden during full bloom.
The Japanese Garden in Delaware Park is a symbol of international peace and was a gift from our sister city of Kanazawa, Japan. Kanazawa is home to Kenrokuen Garden, which is a world-famous Japanese Garden that was initially created as part of an imperial palace. The Japanese Garden is located in Delaware Park, a Fredrick Frederick Law Olmsted-designed park which is carefully managed and maintained by Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy.
