Morning workshops:

Ceramics:  Discover various clay hand-building techniques with ceramic artist, Hilary McAndrew. Campers will throw pottery on the wheel, build vessels using coil and slab, experience a kiln firing, and much more. Each day will be an educational and fun way to create, build and get messy.

Drawing and Painting: Campers will create artworks inspired by Buffalo-based artist, Tanya Chutko as she guides this morning workshop. Inspiration will be drawn from Fine Art as young artists create their own individual artworks. Free expression and creative process mark the imaginative experience as campers create original paintings on wood.

Afternoon workshops:

Dragon Eyes: Create colorful dragon eye magnets, pins or wall hangings using polymer clay and glass eyes in this mythical workshop led by artist, Ashley Maybach.

Illuminated Mixed Media Coral Reef Sculptures: Through the art of mixed media assemblage, design LED powered night lights that pay homage to the ocean’s incredible coral reefs.

Comic Moment: Taking a note from comic books, newspapers and zines, young artists will consider the way illustrators capture a narrative in a few frames. Enjoy the art of illustration as campers make oversized comic stripes.

Memory Jars: Using a personal photograph, campers will create a memory jar as a personal keepsake to explore the ideas of place, identity and time through object making.

*Additional workshops may be added and are at the discretion of the teaching artists.
