The history of beadwork goes back several thousand years and is frequently found on ceremonial clothing in archeological sites throughout Europe, Africa, and Native American cultures. This is a great beginner class that will teach you the process of this ancient art of bead embroidery.
Taking the skills that students learned in the two previous “Intro to Bead Embroidery” classes, participants will embellish either a glass bottle or purse using a variety of beading techniques. A variety of bottle and purses will be available to choose from. PLEASE NOTE: Previous Embezzling A Cabochon class is required before enrolling in this workshop.
Students will receive a kit which includes a cabochon, beading medium, Ultrasuede, beads, flowers, needle & thread, and your choice of glass bottle or purse. There will be 3 colorways to choose from. Instructions will be handed out in class. Students are highly recommended to bring magnification (reading) glasses, scissors, and a portable light if possible. Some materials: beading mats and lights will be available for use but remain property of the instructor. Lunch will not be supplied. Please feel free to bring a bagged lunch or something to snack on.
