Description

Beyond Survival: Public Speaking to Provide Value, Make an Impact and Have Fun
Oftentimes, when people need to speak and share their expertise, they struggle because they may feel uncertain they don’t know what to say or how to deliver their material in a way that has the desired impact on their audience.

In this 4-part interactive series, participants gain a roadmap to clearly guide them to speaking success.
Participants will…

  • Have their fears, concerns and considerations addressed and easily see what it takes for them to be successful with public speaking.
  • Learn how to quickly connect with their audience and keep their engagement.
  • Learn how to prepare and stay on track with their presentation.
  • Be clear on what it takes to provide value in their talks and presentations.
  • Feel confident in what it takes to speak effectively to a group.

NOTE: You must register for each series separately.

Public Speaker Series #1:
Beauty, Brains and Butterflies: How to have power with your fears, concerns and considerations.
Date: Thursday, May 6th, 2021
Time: 12:00pm EST

When we are nervous, our attention is on ourselves, instead of the people we want to connect with, share our expertise with and make a difference for. In part 1 of this series, we address and conquer what’s running in the background so we can be present in the foreground with our audience.

Key Take Away Points:

  • Identify what takes them out and what to do about it.
  • Create a new and empowering context for public speaking.
  • Walk away with a clear path for interrupting negative self-talk.

Public Speaker Series #2:
Storytelling – not just for children! How to identify stories for your talks and bring them to life.
Date: Thursday, June 3rd, 2021
Time: 12:00pm EST

Good storytelling is at the heart of every good talk or presentation. Storytelling has been a form of communication throughout the history of mankind and brings a talk to life. In part 2 of this series, we learn how to connect with any audience and deliver a more meaningful, memorable message.

Key Take Away Points

  • Get clear on the elements of an engaging story.
  • Tell a 2-minute story and receive coaching on storytelling.

Date: Thursday, July 1st, 2021
Time: 12:00pm EST

Preparation is probably the single most important part of giving a successful talk or presentation. In part 3 of this series, understanding good preparation will ensure that you have thought carefully about the message you want to communicate, as well as boost your confidence.

Key Take Away Points:

  • Be clear on the steps to take for successful preparation.
  • Know how to think through what they want to communicate.
  • See what it takes to set themselves up to win.

Public Speaker Series – #4
Movement matters – Body language and eye contact for in-person and virtual talks and presentations
Date: Thursday, August 5th, 2021
Time: 12:00pm EST

How you move in front of an audience matters. Body language includes facial expressions, body posture, gestures, eye movement and the use of space. Although body language is an important part of communication, most of it happens without conscious awareness. In part 4 of this series, we will become conscious of our unconscious behavior.

Key Take Away Points

  • Become aware of common unconscious body language.
  • Practice common unconscious movement.
  • Be aware of the difference between live and virtual body language.
