Description

Bird, Tree, and Garden Club Lecture: Ken Blankenship
Ken has been birding for seventeen years and like many North American birders, Ken became fascinated by the birds and habitats of Arizona. In 2015, he pursued his dream of living and guiding full-time among the Sky Island mountains of southeast Arizona. Ken has spent countless hours in the field learning the ebb and flow of the special migrants, breeding birds, and wintering species of the deserts, high elevation canyons, grasslands, and riparian corridors. His other greatest areas of expertise are the Lower Rio Grande Valley in southern Texas and the birds of the southeast—particularly his native state of Georgia—where he worked for years with the Department of Natural Resources teaching ornithology workshops and performing various breeding bird surveys.
