Create a “Blue Moon” phase of Watercolor Painting in a monochromatic aesthetic. We will be focusing on a single color value and painting with wet on wet techniques, extending tonal values with water and creating texture with salt and alcohol to represent the look of the Moon’s surface. We will finish with details to bring the craters and phases to life. Students will be leaving with a 9″x 12″ painting focusing on one large “Blue” Moon and three smaller moon phases. Students will focus on warm-up exercises that they can use in their everyday watercolor practice and work toward a completed piece!
