JazzBuffalo is excited to partner with Seneca One Tower and Douglas Development Corporation to bring to the Buffalo community Jazz On The Plaz this summer. Taking place on Fridays beginning at 5:30 pm and lasting until 8 pm.
Please note next week’s event will be held on Thursday 06/17/2021 due to the popularity of the New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays Game.
Location: The weekly series will be held at the West Plaza of Seneca One Tower between Pearl Street and Main Street.
The revitalization of Seneca One Tower has been a remarkable transformation from its days serving as a headquarters center for banking institutions. Now serving as a technology hub for M&T Bank and start-up companies, it also offers the availability of apartments with spectacular views. This latest revitalization by Douglas Development Corporation affords the opportunity for the community of Buffalo to make use of this grand location. And to experience jazz, entertainment, and the community at one of Buffalo’s most significant assets. We are able to experience a time reminiscent of when people gathered outdoors to hear music in public town squares and plazas.
There will be food trucks available to offer food and beverages. And the trees offer shade for people as they sit on the concrete benches.
Parking and transportation information is available at this link: So Your Coming To Seneca One
We will be kicking off the series by spotlighting one of our up-and-coming next-generation jazz groups in the city. The Jay/Sharptet band. Fresh off a recording date for the forthcoming new release of an album, the Jay/Sharptet enjoys performing music with a focus on original compositions and arrangements. Inspired by ensembles such as the great Miles Davis Quintets they strive to approach every tune with a unique interpretation and captivating melodies.

The Jazz aOn The Plaz event is sponsored in part by Seneca One Tower, Douglas Development Corporation, M&T Bank, Buffalo Place, and JazzBuffalo.
