Make a pair of earrings and investigate some tools for prototyping your ideas Join us for an introduction to using lasers to draw designs and cut shapes while advancing your skills in making multiples. Create an image and learn about easy workflows for subtractive manufacturing. While we’re waiting for the machine to cut your first masterpiece in wooden (or acrylic) jewelry we’ll take a look around at some of the options The Foundry has to offer community members.
You’ll learn: What materials are appropriate to cut and etch using a laser. How hand drawn designs can become etch files. How to use software to create cut files. Upon completion of this orientation course you will be certified to use this equipment during our Open Maker Hours. (https://www.thefoundrybuffalo.org/makerspaces)
