In this class we will make a slab built mug from clay by rolling it out flat with a rolling pin and then assembling it into a basic cylinder. Afterwards we will learn how to decorate the mug using the sgraffito method, a form of embellishment made by scratching/carving through a top layer of colored glaze to reveal the contrasting color of the clay beneath.
This process is similar to linocut carving but the engraving will be the final product. This workshop is suitable for beginners.
The mugs will be fired after the final workshop and available for pickup on Feb 13th, 6-8pm
