Introducing our new book club, Slow Read! Get a great book that supports Slow Roll, and get together with us to talk about it!
This winter, in addition to another season of *Snow* Roll free and inclusive community bike rides, we’re rolling out new ways to meet our mission of connecting people, places and causes – including this monthly spotlight on a specific book with a gathering to discuss it.
We’re kicking off Slow Read in keeping with our custom of connecting people with places they’ve never been or even heard of – with a new edition published this year by Reedy Press, Secret Places of Western New York: 25 Scenic Hikes is a love letter of sorts by authors Bruce Kershner, Jennifer Hillman and William McKeever, featuring “serene ambiance, hidden caves, ancient spirits and towering waterfalls” worth exploring “whether you’re a casual wanderer or a master of the trails.”
From now through December 16th, the authors have generously offered to donate $5 to Slow Roll Buffalo for every copy sold through their website that mentions Slow Roll in the “How did you hear about this book?” line on the checkout page (see below for instructions). Each book will be signed by the authors, stickered and come with a custom bookmark.
Further, folks can meet the authors, buy the book in-person and with it enjoy their first pint on the house at Community Beer Works for our first Slow Read book talk
