Have you ever wondered how some people can sniff a glass of wine and magically come up with a descriptive list of fruits, vegetables, herbs and inanimate objects? Smell is considered the most significant trigger of memory, however it is often our most underutilized sense. There are over 200 different scents in wine and thousands of words used to describe it. If you’re like us, sometimes connecting the smell to a word is the hardest part. You know that smell from somewhere…but what is it?!
During this class we will guide you through a sensory walk-through of the most common fruits, vegetables, spices and herbs that you’ll find in wine. This will create new olfactory memories that will allow you to identify/describe what your experiencing during your next glass and enjoy wine at a deeper level. The course will be followed by a small tasting of highly aromatic wines.
