Washed Ashore, Art to Save the Sea, is a non-profit organization committed to combatting plastic pollution through art and education. Their mission is to build and exhibit aesthetically powerful art to educate a global audience about plastic pollution in the ocean and waterways and to spark positive changes in consumer habits. In ten years, Washed Ashore has processed over 35 tons of plastic pollution from the Pacific Northwest’s ocean beaches to create over 85 works of art that are awakening the hearts and minds of viewers to the global marine debris crisis.

The creatures are beautiful and shocking all at once – and the best part is they’re spending their summer right here in Chautauqua! From June 1–October 31, Washed Ashore’s elaborate, awe-inspiring indoor and outdoor sculptures will be on display across the grounds at CHQ. With their whimsical depiction of jellyfish, seahorses, sharks and other animals, Washed Ashore’s works are eye-catching and thought-provoking, and graphically illustrate the tragedy of plastic pollution and encourage conservation. You won’t want to miss this incredible exhibit from leading artists!
