  • Eclipsed by the bloodshed of the Civil War, and often overlooked in the aftermath of two World Wars, the “Forgotten” War of 1812 comes to life in our Historic Village as more than one hundred re-enactors portray shopkeepers, housewives, merchants and soldiers amidst the early 19th-century sounds of fifes and drums, cannons and muskets, and English country dancing.

The weekend is devoted to activities that recall those early years when the United State as a newly minted nation, still looking to the customs of its former empire while yet establishing its own identity, entered a new century. Reenactors will offer insight into the impact of the conflict on Western New York during this period.

10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.

    Genesee country
