Tours of the local gardens nestled between the beautiful homes of the Parkside neighborhood, the suburb designed by Olmsted in 1870, are during the 21st Annual Parkside Garden and Architecture Tour on Sunday, June 24th from 10AM to 4PM. The self-guided tour begins in the heart of the Parkside community, outside of Hillside Children’s Center, 70 Jewett Parkway, at the corner of Crescent Avenue. A full color map and garden directory for this self-guided tour is available for $5 on the day of the tour. The maps direct you to highlighted gardens.
Guided architectural tours are also available for $15/person. Tours depart at 10:00AM from Hillside Children’s Center, 70 Jewett Parkway.
This event is sponsored by the Parkside Community Association, one of Buffalo’s oldest incorporated neighborhood associations. All money raised helps support continuing non-profit programs of the Parkside Community Association—among them are the Summer Arts Camp for kids, Aging in Place, Crime Prevention, Housing Advocacy, Arts and Crafts Show, Traffic Safety, the renowned Parkside Tour of Homes and Garden & Architecture Tour, and the popular free summer “Movies in the Meadow” series.
